by Nita Schiro, Master Gardener
We sold out of the most popular citrus and avocado trees within the first twenty minutes. We had a record turnout of people. As a result, we plan to offer most of the varieties again at our upcoming March 18th Spring Plant Sale, plus much, much more.
If you were one of the many gardeners who missed out on purchasing the Meyer Lemon, the most popular variety of lemon tree grown in our area, be sure to shop the March 18th sale as we will have plenty available. If you still need a Satsuma Orange, Republic of Texas Orange, an Opal or Fantastic Avocado tree, then you will be happy to know we will offer all of these again in March. We will not, however, be selling bare root trees at the spring sale.
Be sure to come early for the best selection. Also, check the website for the complete plant list as we near March 18th. Let us hope the weather holds and we are through with hard freezes, so we can all enjoy the spring planting season.
Also, we have about 50 garden wagons for your use. BUT, we do NOT have 500 wagons so be smart and BYOW- Bring your own WAGON and you can avoid the waiting lines that we sometimes have at the wagon lot.
Thanks for supporting your Montgomery County Master Gardeners.
