Herb Gardening for Every Gardener.
The best herbs for your garden, your landscape, your butterflies, your birds, and your kitchen will be identified. Presenters will also focus on the numerous varieties and uses of these herbs for Montgomery County gardeners with large or small gardening areas. Expect some surprises and some treats from these herb loving Master Gardeners.

Montgomery County Master Gardeners will be available in the various demonstration garden areas to answer questions about their specific garden, be available to answer questions regarding gardening issues, provide pertinent handouts on gardening issues, and share information on the Master Gardener Program.
The benefits of this gardening approach along with the required elements and processes of an aquaponic system will be described and explained. A tour of the Aquaponic Garden on the Extension facilities will highlight the program.

Whether rain or shine the gardener looks for this absolute necessity for his/her plants. Current concerns with costs for water to meet all the uses by residents redirect gardeners’ thoughts on providing water in their landscape. Preparation for our extended dry spells over several months is aided by using rainwater harvesting during the wet periods of the year.
Methods for limiting “over watering” and “wasting water” are enhanced by using irrigation delivery systems for florals, shrubs and trees. How to creating an irrigation system for yourown landscape will also be shared.

Focusing on this integral pollinator in the gardening world the presenter will provide some history, recent developments and best methods for bringing bees into the landscape. Correct approach to meet the needs and protection of the bee and /or the bee colony will also be discussed and exemplified. Any potential as well as practicing beekeeper will benefit from this program.

Montgomery County Master Gardener Association holds three Plant Sales each year at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office located at 9020 Airport Road, Conroe, Texas 77303.
Our Fall Sales provide landscape and garden offerings suitable for Winter planting in Montgomery County. An educational presentation by Montgomery County’s Extension Horticulture Agent is held before each plant sale from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. in the Thomas R. LeRoy Education Building ( located at the Extension Office facility).

The Montgomery County Master Gardeners invite you to the Fall “Open Gardens” event to share the demonstration gardens which they maintain weekly at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension office. The Extension Gardens consist of a variety of garden areas: Floral, Adaptive, Vegetable, Bog, Aquaponics, Greenhouses, Discovery, Orchard and EarthKind. This event is a wonderful way to see the Master Gardeners’ results and receive information of best gardening practices in Montgomery County.
